Looking for a place for Valentine's Day?? Let me start by saying, I don't write reviews. I have nothing to gain by writing this but you have everything to gain by going to this restaurant, whatever the occasion. My husband and I recently had dinner at Yellow Springs Inn and it was truly one of the most enjoyable dining experiences of my life! They had a great menu (with additional specials) and the food was delicious...all top quality steroid-free and antibiotic-free meats, local produce, etc. You could taste the difference! The service was perfect...professional yet friendly. We received just the right amount of attention. The ambiance was like no other. Real wood burning fireplaces were ablaze in the most charming of Victorian settings. It was like a step back in time. The icing on the cake...it's a BYO. Not only do you save money but you get to bring your favorite bottle(s) of wine. So whether you're throwing a party, looking to impress on a first date or reminding the love of your life just why they fell in love with you, this is the place! I can't wait to go back. Janice D.

I would give them 5 stars, which I do rarely, but they were out of pheasant and it's on the menu daily. I love breast of pheasant and not many places serve it, so I was really disappointed the waitress said they were out on the night I was there. Outside of that the service, food and setting is wonderful. Sat on the porch which is quiet and it's undercover so even if there's a rain you can still enjoy sitting outside. The Heirloom tomato salad was outstanding and the puff pastry filled with duck and cherries was just as good. So, instead of getting my pheasant I opted for berkshire pork cutlets in a rich sauce with Lyonaise potato's and fresh asparagus. I would have liked a chop instead of cutlets, but the dish was very good. The veal chop special was one the 3 best veal chops in this area. The bete noire dessert is small, but so rich that 2 or 3 people can easily share. Parking is in front of the inn or across the street in a field. They take all credit cards and the inn is BYO.

This restaurant has it all. Fantastic food, atmosphere and great service. If you are interested in having one of your best dining experiences in your life than try this place. I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in Philadelphia and New York and I would put the Yellow Springs Inn right up there with any of them.

I do have to say that the food is excellent and the catering menus is amazing if you plan on having an event. However, I heard the owner has a history of not paying catering staff overtime! I have seen the staff unload, set-up, serve, break-down, and load-up after a 20-hour party (from truck arrival to finish). I can only imagine the time and effort they put in before and after the event. These folks earn and deserve their overtime pay!!!

This used to be a fabulous place. But the problem is the menu is old. They do add in things that are "specials" based on I guess what can be sourced locally and cheap, but it isn't enough. I don't need a large menu but for the prices they charge they should be able to mix it up . Also the food would show better on plates that were less busy. This place is a BYOB and supposedly they were going to get a liquor license but it hasn't happened. Also somehow the place seems more crammed with furniture and am not sure for what because last time we were in the place was empty! Another reason for this update is to mention that the seafood tasted old the last time we were in. Waitstaff too. They come in two varieties : overly solicitous to the point of bothersome and scared of their own shadow. And the ladies room smelled rank even over the stinky candle burning inside and the different stinky candle burning outside the ladies room in the hall. Also the last time we went we ended up just being a walk in because no one ever answers the phone or calls people back! This place went from being one of the best in Chester County to being so so. It's a nice drive to get there but don't expect much anymore. This place has the smell of a failing establishment

May be the top fine dining experience in Chester County. Beautiful candlelit decor, amazing food. BYOB, which is great!

Somehow we missed the fact that this BYOB which is just 2 1/2 miles from our house opened a year ago. We generally go to Gilmore's in West Chester for high end food but based on our experience tonight this is our go to spot from now on. You can dine on the porch watching deer grazing in the field across the street or in the dining room, which is tres elegante. Check the menu out at yellowspringscatering.com
